Our guides and tool pages should be accurate, clear and useful. This policy explains how we make them and how we fix mistakes.

Our purpose
Visatk publishes free tools and educational content about card payments, banking codes and online safety. Our goal is to help merchants, developers and consumers understand how payments work, not to sell financial products.
Research
Content starts from primary sources wherever possible: published standards, card network and regulator documentation, official issuer terms and technical specifications. When sources disagree, we use the most authoritative one and describe the uncertainty.
Writing standards
- Plain language that a non-specialist can follow.
- Neutral, educational tone without promises or guaranteed outcomes.
- No time-sensitive figures such as current rates or fees unless they are clearly dated.
- Clear limits: we say what a tool or figure cannot tell you.
- Safety first: we never encourage misuse of card data or test numbers.
AI-assisted drafting and human review
We may use AI tools to help draft, summarise or translate content. Every page is reviewed by a person for accuracy, clarity and safety before it is published, and AI output is never published as fact without checking it against reliable sources.
Review and updates
Pages are reviewed when standards, network rules or our tools change, and on a regular schedule. The date on a page shows when it was last reviewed.
Sources we rely on
- International standards such as ISO/IEC 7812, ISO 13616 (IBAN) and ISO 9362 (BIC).
- Public documentation from card networks and payment industry bodies.
- Regulators, central banks and consumer protection agencies.
- Official terms published by issuers and payment providers.
- Open data sets such as DB-IP Lite for IP geolocation.
Independence from advertising
Visatk is funded by advertising and optional membership. Advertisers have no influence on our content, tool results or recommendations. We do not accept payment to rank, promote or review financial products, and ads are clearly separated from editorial content.
Corrections
If you find an error in a guide, tool page or BIN record, email support@visatk.com with the page address and the details. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the review date on the page.
