About the IBAN Validator
An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) starts with a two-letter ISO country code and two check digits, followed by the country's Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN). This validator first normalizes the input (spaces and dashes removed, letters upper-cased), then checks that the country uses IBAN, that the total length matches the official length for that country, that the BBAN follows the registered pattern of digits and letters, and finally that the ISO 7064 MOD-97-10 checksum gives a remainder of 1. When the checksum fails it also shows which check digits the account body would need, which helps spot typing mistakes. A pass means the number is correctly formed; it does not prove that the account exists or is open, and national check digits inside the BBAN are not verified. All checks run in your browser, so the IBANs you type are never sent to a server.
FAQ
What does this IBAN validator check?
It checks the country code, the official IBAN length for that country, the BBAN pattern of digits and letters, and the ISO 7064 MOD-97-10 checksum (the two digits after the country code). A pass means the IBAN is format-valid; it does not mean the account exists.
Does the tool contact my bank or store the IBAN?
No. All checks run locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a bank or any third party, and nothing is stored in a database or log.
Can I validate many IBANs at once?
Yes. Paste one IBAN per line into the bulk box. Each line is normalized and checked separately for length, format and checksum, and you can download the results as CSV.
